Privacy Policy
A reflection can be useful without becoming a permanent profile. This page explains the limited information the analyzer needs and the boundaries around it.
What the analyzer receives
No account is required. When you submit a reflection, we receive the words you enter and a randomly generated session identifier so the analyzer can respond and, when needed, continue a clarification.
How the reflection is used
Your text is compared with the Hello to Halo cognitive-bias database and processed by our hosted application, database, and configured AI model providers to produce the reflection you request. It is not used for advertising or sold to data brokers.
Retention
Analyzer scenario text and related response records may be retained for up to 30 days for continuity, reliability, and troubleshooting, then are automatically deleted. This is a maximum window, not a promise that every record will be kept for the full period.
Newsletter signups
If you choose to receive occasional Hello to Halo notes, we store your email address, signup source, consent wording and time, confirmation status, unsubscribe status, and limited delivery-provider identifiers. Newsletter records are kept separately from analyzer reflections and are not used to build an analyzer profile.
Newsletter confirmation and retention
We use double opt-in: a signup remains pending until you confirm it from your inbox. Active subscription records are retained while you remain subscribed. If you unsubscribe, we retain a limited consent and suppression record so we can honor that choice, resolve delivery issues, and demonstrate the history of the request.
Abuse prevention and performance
We use a one-way keyed representation of the requesting IP address to enforce short-lived usage limits; those rate-limit records are removed after roughly two days. Hosting providers may also process ordinary technical logs. Vercel Analytics and Speed Insights provide aggregate usage and performance signals without advertising profiles.
Service providers
The service currently uses Vercel for application hosting and analytics, Neon/PostgreSQL for database storage, Resend for requested email delivery and subscription management, Cloudflare Turnstile for signup abuse prevention when enabled, and configured NVIDIA and Google Gemini model services for analysis and response composition. Their handling is also governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
What not to submit
Please avoid names, account numbers, passwords, confidential business information, or sensitive medical, legal, financial, or identifying details. The analyzer is designed for decision context, not personal records.
Choices and questions
You can use the Bias Lexicon without submitting a reflection or joining the newsletter. Every newsletter includes an unsubscribe option, and provider preference changes are synchronized back to our consent record. If a published Hello to Halo contact channel is available, use it for a privacy question and include only the minimum information needed to understand the request.
